Art Talk: Denise Lindgren
Denise Lindgren, winner of the Visual Art League of Lewisville’s Fresh Ideas 2024 exhibition, discusses her works in the exhibition, Meaning through Memory.
In her first solo exhibition, Meaning Through Memory, Lindgren presents fragments of the past through collages and assemblages. Using original, once-used objects that carry both personal and collective histories, she explores how memory fosters understanding leading to meaning. Guided by geometry and symmetry, the heart of her practice is a blend of aesthetics, process, content, and material—anchored by spirituality and a belief in memory’s ability to connect past, present, and future.
These exhibitions runs from July 12 – Aug. 9 in the main Art Gallery. Gallery hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. and evenings when there are other public programs scheduled in the building.
