Free Art Workshop: Painting with a Limited Palette

Karla Brady is a contemporary representational painter working in oils and watercolor. As a self-described “color nerd”, she uses a limited palette and loves to share what she has learned.

Objectives:

• Experiment mixing colors
• Create and utilize color wheel
• Make a small painting

At this workshop, you will create your very own acrylic painting utilizing a limited palette of red, yellow, and blue. You will learn to mix colors and understand how to create secondary and tertiary colors as well as neutral shades. You will use a color wheel and explore limited palette options.    

• All necessary materials are provided
• You may bring your favorite materials such as brushes, paints (watercolor, acrylic, gouache, etc.) canvas
• Bring an apron or wear your painting clothes
