Portraits are a classic art form that date back as far as the ancient civilizations of Egypt and the Mediterranean. Throughout the history of art, portraits have been created to capture the likeness, status, personality, and inherent essence of the subject. From symbolism to psychology, royalty to pets, the seen to the unseen, portraiture has been an enduring and evolving practice to capture and express the spirit of the subject.

The exhibition runs from May 10 – June 7 in the Education Hallway Gallery. Gallery hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. and evenings when there are other public programs scheduled in the building.

To reach The Grand from Interstate 35E, take exit 452 and proceed east on Main Street to Charles Street. The Grand will be on the left. Free public parking is available along Main and Church streets, or at Lewisville City Hall across Church Street from the center.
