Art Talk to feature artist Caleb Jacks
The Visual Art League of Lewisville will present artist and high school art teacher Caleb Jacks at its monthly Art Talk event on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 7 p.m., at Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street.
Jacks has been teaching for 15 years and has been working as an artist for about the same amount of time. He often works with murals, but his passion and love is illustration. He likes to work in traditional media and digital art using Procreate. Recently he started getting into “world building” with dioramas. Attendees can see his chalk wall murals currently on display in the Lewisville Grand Theater lobby above the Church Street and Main Street entrances.
Jacks will talk about his journey as an artist, how he started working with murals, commissions, and artists who have inspired him. He will demonstrate how to draw and paint using Procreate, which can be purchased for the iPad or iPhone. It’s one of his main tools for planning and creating.
