Artist Talk: Marilyn Henrion
Artist Talk: Marilyn Henrion
Saturday, July 25, 1–3 p.m.
Join internationally recognized mixed media artist Marilyn Henrion for an afternoon exploring the creative process behind The Ninth Decade, her solo exhibition at the Lewisville Grand Theater Gallery. At 94 years old, Henrion continues to create innovative works that combine photography, digital technology, and the traditional craft of hand quilting.
During this special artist talk, Henrion will discuss the inspiration, techniques, and themes that define her recent work, including the relationship between humanity, architecture, nature, and memory. Guests will also get a behind-the-scenes look at a documentary currently in production about Marilyn and her late husband, fellow artist Edward Henrion. The filmmaker will be on hand to share insights about the project and answer questions.
This free event offers a unique opportunity to hear directly from an acclaimed artist whose work is featured in major museum, corporate, and private collections around the world.
The Ninth Decade is on view in the Art Gallery at Lewisville Grand Theater through August 15. The gallery is open Tuesday–Saturday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., and during public events. Admission is always free.
