Acoustic Fridays Songwriting Challenge
Acoustic Fridays “Hot Rod” Songwriters Challenge
Presented by the Visual Art League of Lewisville
Calling all songwriters! Whether you’re a seasoned pro or new to the stage, join Acoustic Fridays (sponsored by the Visual Art League of Lewisville) for its quarterly Songwriting Challenge. This free event gives singer-songwriters—and listeners alike—the chance to experience the courageous and beautiful art of original songwriting.
Come to perform:
Each Songwriters Challenge features a theme to guide participants, and this event’s theme is Hot Rod. We’re coming in hot and fast—so fire up your creative engines, burn rubber, and debut an original hot rod-inspired song.
Songwriters are invited to create and debut original songs written specifically for this theme. Performances may be solo or include an accompanist, with acoustic instruments (including amplified acoustic guitars) or a cappella. Exceptions to the acoustic rule include keyboards and electric bass.
There are just two rules: songs must be newly written for this challenge and debuted at the event. The challenge begins at 7 p.m. Performers are encouraged to arrive by 6:45 p.m. to sign up for a performance slot.
Come to listen:
The event is free and open to the public. The concert begins at 7 p.m. and ends when all songwriters have performed.
